Dana C. Dawson, seven times re-certified CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) and a CNC (Certified Non-profit Consultant), brings over 25 years of experience to the field of fund development having served a variety of organizations and causes in the nonprofit sector.

His broad experience includes the direction of several major capital campaigns and the execution of a number of successful annual giving and endowment programs.

Dana is the past National Director of Development, Canadian Foundation for Ileitis and Colitis (Crohn’s Canada) and served as Director of Development and Campaign Director for the North York General Hospital Foundation’s highly successful $40 million capital campaign. He also served as on-sight Campaign Director with several internationally based fund raising consulting firms.

He served as Vice President, Development and Public Relations for West Park Healthcare Center Foundation and served as President and Chief Development Officer for Palomar Pomerado Health Foundation, California’s largest health district and the nation’s seventh largest hospital district system.

In 1993, Dana established his fund raising practice, DevelopmentPLUS, providing strategic fund raising counsel. His full-time practice offers a variety of services including development audits, on-sight campaign counsel, campaign readiness studies, cultivation, volunteer training and major gift support. Dana has also provided counsel in the area of annual giving: including direct mail, gaming, events management, donor recognition and planned giving.

He is a frequent presenter at several national annual conferences and has been active with the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) and the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP). In 2014, Dana was named Outstanding Fundraising Professional of the Year by the Southern Arizona Chapter Association of Fundraising Professionals.
